DIBULITOON STUDIO
Dibulitoon Studio has been producing high-quality artistic and cultural animation projects since 1991, carefully selecting and promoting its material. It is responsible for three of the most highly successful full-length animation films made in our country: El ladrón de sueños (2001), Glup (2003) and Supertramps (2004), all of which were nominated for Goya awards, and at the same time have shown that quality 3D animation can indeed be made in our country. Its latest film, entitled Cristóbal Molón (Christopher Coolumbus), will be released on 5 December 2006 (which combines mock-ups and 3D animation). In addition to these productions, Dibulitoon Studio has had a hand in 17 international feature-length films: The Lost World, Sabrina, Johan Padan, El rey de la granja and Batman, as well as dozens of series made for television.
Dibulitoon Studio is now working on two feature films: Mystical, el viaje de Eldyn, a story filled with imagination that takes place in a world of fantasy, the first feature-length film in Spain shot entirely on green screen; and Elcano, la primera vuelta al mundo, an international coproduction between Italy, the UK and Portugal. In the area of television series, Dibulitoon Studio is working on Bámbulo, an animation series based on the writing of Bernardo Atxaga. The first pilot episode for the series has already been released.
In addition to these feature-length films, the company has also produced three short films in recent years – Historia de Elam (2002), El juego de Caín (2005) and Involución (2.006). All of them included new techniques never tried before in our country, combining real and virtual images. Dibulitoon Studio also organises the Basque Animation Film Festival, Animatoon.
