CRISTÓBAL MOLÓN - CHRISTOPHER COOLUMBUS
A good-looking, easy-going bloke with a captivating smile. Classically well-built. As his very name suggests, Coolumbus is one cool guy who people tend to be fond of, and he uses these endearing qualities as a sort of marketing tool. In other words, he dupes people into buying second-rate products. What he really is is a deceitful, lying louse.
In his private life he could care less whether people like him or not. He’s at odds with the world and has a negative concept of people in general. As he sees it, anyone with a head on his shoulders is actually a fool who is susceptible to being conned and deserves it. But at the same time, his positive feelings emerge every once in a while, showing that all the contempt he has for the people around him is really only skin deep.
At the end of the story, after he sheds his aggressive shield and is freed from all of his grudges, the real Coolumbus shines through: purposeful, sure of himself, brave and, most of all, willing to risk his life for a good cause. And needless to say, he succumbs to Carabix’s charms – which she really does have.
